Security Services

Building Security:

Security personnel are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Security officers are clad in navy sweaters with underlying white dress shirts accompanied by navy pants for easy recognition.  Each officer is required to wear a photo identification badge.  The officers make routine patrols throughout the building, garage and retail area and are available to assist with special needs or in the event of an emergency.

The Security control center is located on the lobby level down the hall beside the ATM Machine in the atrium.  Security is staffed 24 hours a day and 365 days a year and may be reached at (704) 388-3772.

Transamerica Square is equipped with a security system including CCTV (closed circuit TV) throughout the building and parking garage.  Transamerica Square's security system includes a locking and monitoring system for all stairwells and perimeter doors, emergency call buttons in the parking garage; state of the art fire alarm and elevator control systems as well as two-way radios.  Each system is controlled and monitored from the SecurityControlCenter.

After Hours Access:

From 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, acccess to the office portion of the building is restricted by limiting operation of the building elevators.  A card access system is installed within all elevator cabs that will allow cardholders to access their floors only.

All visitors must sign in at the ControlCenter after hours.  Security maintains a list of personnel authorized for after-hours access, as well as a list of tenant contacts with after-hours telephone numbers so that they may be reached by Security in the event of an emergency or to verify an employee's identification.  Security will not grant access to any individual without proper authorization.  It is the responsibility of the Tenant to keep the access list up to date.  All changes must be in writing on company letterhead and delivered to the Management Office.

Concealed Weapons:

A concealed handgun permit does NOT authorize a person to carry a concealed handgun on this property.  The carrying of a concealed or unconcealed weapon on these "premises" by anyone other than a sworn law enforcement officer in the performance of official duties is prohibited.  This policy is made in accordance with the North Carolina General Statutes 14-415.11. "Premises" including this building, other buildings in this complex, as well as walkways, common areas, and parking garage.

Lost and Found:

Any items turned in to Transamerica Square Security Console as lost will be held for a period of six months.  After this period expires, Building Management reserves the right to dispose of any item at their discretion.

Office Security:

Although Transamerica Square maintains a 24 hour security operation, tenants are ultimately responsible for the security and protection of their offices.  Security officers will check to verify that tenant offices are locked each night, but this does not eliminate tenant responsibility to secure offices and workstations and follow prudent security measures.  Please follow the below listed precautionary steps to prevent theft in your offices:

  • Lock all doors when you are not in your office and upon leaving at the end of each day.
  • Do not leave keys to desk and filing cabinets out and unsecured; take them with you at all times.
  • Keep all valuables inside a locked desk when unattended.
  • Keep all laptops and exensive items off desktops when unattended.
  • Do not leave valuable articles including handbags and coats in unguarded areas, or on desks in offices, even for brief periods.
  • Notify Security of solicitors or suspicious persons in corridors, offices or restrooms immediately.
  • Take special precautions just after opening, during lunch hours and just before closing when people may be absent from their workstations.
  • Record equipment and property serial numbers to aid police in recovering property if lost or stolen.
  • Report all thefts to Security as soon as they are noticed missing.
  • When working late, notify Security of the floor you are on and ask that they periodically check on you.
  • Walk in groups when coming and going to work.  Remember that the Transamerica Square garage is free after 5:00 p.m.  You will have to pull a ticket, but there is not a charge associated with any ticket pulled after 5:00 p.m.
